I absolutely LOVE System of a down. I actually discovered this album at one of the worst points in my life, at a hospital, and it gave me a little spark to find fun in life again.

I didn’t really know about this band at the time, but I was already a drummer, and the very heavy and present drums honestly pulled me in. I think the pretty used and heavy bass gave me the taste I have for bass-heavy music now.

Created during Covid, this is a a welcoming come-back to a heavier genre after amo (2018). Writing this now I see that this EP eased us into the more electronic-sounding Post human : NexT Gen, their last album.

Even then, I didn’t think it was as bad as people made it out to be. When a band exists for 10+ years, they SHOULD try out different genres.

Made me understand myself better.

A guy, societal, depressed, clean, white, bored out of his mind, playing a role in the great society of America. Pricy coffee, nice Swedish furniture, work, work. Until a house fire fucks it all up.

I loved everything about this movie. It speaks to me on serveral planes. I relate to everyone in there. I love Marla, I see me in her. But same thing for Tyler, and everyone else. Every character is a different part of me that I’ve fought and that I now live with.
